On 10 February 2026, class 2H of the Linguistic course took part in person in the Safer Internet Day event “Together for a Better Internet,” established and promoted by the European Commission.

The initiative is part of the Safer Internet Centre – Generazioni Connesse, coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit and implemented in collaboration with several institutional partners, including the Authority for Children and Adolescents, the National Cybersecurity Agency, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department for Family Policies, the Communications Regulatory Authority, the Data Protection Authority, the State Police, the Universities of Florence and “La Sapienza” of Rome, Save the Children Italy, Telefono Azzurro, the cooperative EDI Onlus, Skuola.net, and the Giffoni Experience.

The event represented an important opportunity to encourage students to reflect not only on the conscious and responsible use of the internet, but also on the active role each individual plays in shaping the web as a positive and safe environment. It was also a valuable Civic Education and career guidance experience, aimed at fostering students’ awareness of digital citizenship, strengthening their sense of personal responsibility and autonomy, and deepening their understanding of the broader European context.

For class 2H, the event was closely connected to the work carried out within the eTwinning project “LEAP – Languages for Empowerment, Awareness, and Peace,” particularly in relation to the collaboration with our German partners on the theme “Learning in the Age of Artificial Intelligence – How will Artificial Intelligence influence education?”
