Students of class 2H, currently involved in the eTwinning project LEAP – Languages for Empowerment, Awareness and Peace, have been invited to participate in a university research study exploring the impact of eTwinning projects on students’ learning experiences and competence development.
The study is being conducted by researchers from the Master’s programme in Modern Languages for Intercultural Communication at Roma Tre University. By taking part, students are encouraged to reflect on the competences they have developed through the project, including foreign language proficiency, digital competence, intercultural communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and active citizenship.
Students and their families welcomed the opportunity to contribute to the research, which was formally communicated by the Headteacher through a school circular. Beyond supporting academic research, the initiative also has an important educational and career-guidance value. For 15-year-old students, engaging with a real university research project offers a meaningful introduction to the world of higher education and social sciences, helping them understand how research is designed and conducted, while encouraging them to reflect on their own learning journey.
The experience therefore combines active citizenship, self-awareness, and educational orientation, reinforcing the connection between school learning, academic research, and future study opportunities.
