Two French students recently returned to France after spending a month with two host families from Liceo Machiavelli. During their stay, they fully participated in all classroom activities, sharing lessons, projects, and daily school life with their Italian peers.
Their presence became a continuous source of dialogue and comparison between educational systems, cultural traditions, habits, and ideas. Italian students had the opportunity to engage with different perspectives, reflect on their own school experience, and develop intercultural awareness, curiosity, and mutual respect.
This experience exemplifies the dissemination value of the Erasmus+ program: the knowledge, skills, and intercultural insights gained by the French students are not confined to their own mobility period. Through interactions with their Italian classmates, discussions in the classroom, and collaborative activities, the benefits of the Erasmus+ experience are spread widely, inspiring the entire class and promoting European citizenship, open-mindedness, and intercultural dialogue.
The month-long stay highlights how hosting international students creates a multiplier effect: it enriches the host school community, fosters long-lasting connections across borders, and strengthens the understanding of shared European values among young people.
